Joesphine, the newest key member of Harold Studio has a laugh that is catching. She does a lot of research for her day job and makes jewelry to relax and enjoy doing something she loves. Here are a couple of pieces I snagged off her today: This necklace has a clasp at the back with an extension which hangs down several inches. These are some earrings which are mokume. Mokume stands for wood eye metal. This is Josephine's first attempt at mokume and they turned out pretty neat! Last, these are some soon to be earrings using the technique of keum-boo. Josephine makes everything without using electricity! She thinks her pieces have a primitive look to them. What do you think?...
Ariel moved with her husband to Phoenix last year from Cut Off, Louisiana. She had been into jewelry making through beading and was getting a lot of requests for her great rosaries. It didn't take long before Ariel wanted to branch out and so she decided to take our Jewelry I in May. She has been metalworking ever since! She's a joy to be around and uplifts the general mood of the studio whenever she's in. Visit Ariel's shop Beni par Dieu to see more of what she has to offer!...
Jewelry designer Chris, a former Jewelry I student at the studio has shot off like a rocket since her first class for jewelry making. She's now a key renter and can be found many a day working in our back room or chatting it up with the others over the weekend at the studio. This sterling and garnet necklace is just one of many great examples of what she has made. Check out her website here ....
I took this last weekend. A few works in progress by Chris, a key renter at the studio, that she has now finished. Chris is an amazing artist and all around nice person. Honestly, she can draw like no other person I've seen before. She definitely adds to the studio environment. I'm especially in love with the pendant that has the garnet balls attached. A picture doesn't do it justice. Hopefully I'll be able to get a couple more to put up of it though. It's amazing! Ok, just got a picture up of one of the unfinished pieces in the picture above. Chris has been working a lot with fold forming lately. You can definitely see it in her work. ...
