These are a couple of pendants Tomi made after learning tube setting in Jewelry II. She's planning on adding tube set pieces to her Etsy shop where she sells a lot of custom stamped pieces. During class, we hear her phone give off a money sounding ding all of the time to indicate she has made another sale. Below are some custom silver guitar picks she does. Aren't they a great idea? Tomi had her 500th sale just before last weeks class. It's so neat to see people coming through the studio and doing well! I'm sure she'll have a thousand soon! Tomi's shop is called Tomi's Treasures . What are you're favorite pieces from her shop?...
Debbie came into the studio a few weeks ago never having even pierced out a design into metal. Last week she finished our ball ring and set an aqua cab on top to give to her granddaughter. That's pretty quick progress isn't it? She changed up how we normally do the silver ring and at first I wasn't sure how good it would look, but I love it!...

We've been having a lot of people come to the studio to make resin pendants recently. Resin allows you to trap a keepsake inside something like a pendant forever under a clear glassy surface. We have things like watch parts and crystals to fill the pendants with, but anything can be used really; a picture, saying or even seashells. The resin pendants are a fun thing to make in groups for birthdays or a Friday night out. And that's just what happened for the group that came in and made these lovely pieces! Resin pendants are a fun way to create something you can wear that reflects your own style and artistry....
Last Sunday, Greg and Kimberly came in to make wedding bands for each other at the studio. They met while out country dancing and have been together ever since. It was a lot of fun and even Kimberly's daughter had a hand in helping! Kimberly was nice enough to send pictures of the experience to me to put up here and wrote: "Thank you for the wonderful experience you have given both of us. We appreciate your time and patience. We now have another memory to cherish." Thanks for coming to Harold Studio you two! I'm so glad you have a great memory in making the engagement bands. Now you can brag to your friends about how your ring is made by your fiance! Are you interested in making wedding bands for each other? Contact us at Harold Studio for more information....
Last weekend we had an amazingly productive workshop etching and forming many bracelets. NC Black puts on a fun class while working the tar out of people! Everyone did an amazing job and the silver pieces were especially stunning. These blanks are etched and ready to be formed. Below, Les is demonstrating how to form the bracelets on one of NC Black 's signature stakes. The bracelets after they've been formed and etched! Andrea and Les showing how to safely reclaim the metal that was etched. This was such an amazing class and a great way to learn how to safely etch without using nasty chemicals like nitric acid. ...

Our friends Andrea and Les from NC BLACK Co. will be up in November to teach a 2 day green etching workshop. They are amazing teachers and VERY fun to be around. Galvanic etching is an electrolytic process, the principles of which have been known since the early 19th century, and the original process was patented in 1840 and called electro-etching. This workshop will demonstrate the galvanic process on a small scale for studio applications. Students will learn to electrically etch with minerals bronze, copper, and sterling silver. This is the ONLY non-industrial etching technique available that allows All the etched silver material to be recovered. The projects in this class include several image transfer methods as well as resists and intaglio techniques that will be used to create several etched bracelet blanks. After students etch a bracelet blank in each material, they will then learn to anticlastically raise them into cuff bracelets using NC BLACK Co 's end hook stakes ...
