Here are a few of my favorites from the past week or so. Devon made this tube set necklace in Jewelry II. Susan made this cabochon ring in Jewelry I. The stone is called larimar. Cathy made these pieces of jewelry and brought them in. I love that she took the pebble ring idea and used it for earrings!  Ruth made this tube set ring. I believe the metal she used was argentium silver.  Kathy enameled some beautiful pieces.  Alexandria finished her tube set earrings.  Katy made a cute pair of earrings in Jewelry I.  Lynn used a template to create this pair of earrings. Kathy picked up enameling about a year ago. She really liked it and had a week where she was required to stay indoors, so she decided to buy a bunch of different colored enamels and go to town with practicing. Since then, she always has something new to show. I'm always amazed at how quickly she seems to be improving and learning. But it does make sense. She loves doing it and spends a lot of time reading, practicing and making enameled pieces.  Kathy stores all of her enamels in cardboard boxes with sample colors at the top for reference. This is a great way to keep track of what you have. All of the doubled up colors are for the transparent colors. One sample is just a coat of the transparent. The other is a coat of opaque white with the transparent color over it. Below are a few she had with her last night. I think my favorite are the flower earrings. What are yours? ...

Contact Paper: It's Great for Jewelry Templates! If you have a good idea for a jewelry design and want to use it over and over again, you may want to make a template to recreate the exact design specs. There are a few different ways to do this, and today we just discovered another! If you have any extra contact paper lying around, it acts as a great template for a design you want to saw out because it's: Easy to transfer a pattern onto it Sticky Reusable These are a pair of earrings Lynn made the other day. She really liked them and wanted to make another pair. She first drew out the design on paper to make sure it looked exactly the way she wanted, making the adjustments necessary for it to look just right. Then, she traced that design onto her contact paper. She then cut out the transferred design, peeled it off, and stuck it to her metal. Kathy enameled a pair of earrings I love this pair of earrings she made! She separated the colors with wire, having it go past the circle (which she said made it a lot easier and better looking on the design), and then cut it off. Michelle made a pair of small, sunburst earrings. Flower Bracelet Cathy made a bracelet out of her solder inlay project Tube Set Moonstone Pendant Melanie made her friend a pendant out of moonstones when learning how-to tube set.
